"I love photography for its artistic possibilities, and for its power to preserve a child's smile of 60 years earlier for later generations using just light and a camera", Nicole enthusiastically exclaims. Her photograph of a spontaneous moment between boy and cat does just that; an admirer called it "pure joy".
Canadian photographer and writer Freeman Patterson, who pioneered photo impressionism, and Joe Miller, who taught Nicole the essence of visual design, strongly influence how she photographs. She formally studied technique, including darkroom at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
With her family's medieval village of Saorge as base, Nicole photographs extensively in Italy, France and Monaco You'll see the first two photographs of her Monaco Grand Prix Series that capture the F1's as they hit the chicane.
Nicole's awards include several at San Diego's Annual International Exhibitions of Photography and being named a "Featured Artist" of San Diego's ArtWalk 2004. Her exuberant and refreshing photographs grace private collections in the U.S. and Europe.
Nicole exhibits solo and with the highly regarded PhotoArts Group and Digital Art Guild of San Diego. She is available for people and pet portraits, and photographs artist artwork. A member of the American society of Media Photographers (ASMP) http://www.asmp.org/ and Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) http://www.wippi.com/ , she is expanding her commercial and free lance work, including event photography.
